Sarah Nakamoto
Cascade Orthopedic Supply
While new to O&P, I find it fascinating! Most recently, I was Clinic Director for The Egoscue Method’s flagship clinic in Del Mar, CA, a posture therapy clinic that gets to the root of musculoskeletal imbalance that causes compensatory patterns in the body, and therefore pain. I was able to eliminate 25 years of back pain in myself! I worked at the clinic in all positions from admin to Advanced Posture Therapist, and everything in between. I have spent countless hours on the phone with potential patients, as well as worked regularly on the clinic floor with patients and athletes to avoid or push back big surgeries, help high-level athletes improve performance, or help patients of all ages out of debilitating joint pain and get them back to doing the things they love every day, with joy. My experience running a clinic allows me to be able to understand some of the day-to-day obstacles that O&P clinic owners experience. I am learning as much about O&P as I can, as quickly as I can, to do just that.
When the opportunity to move into O&P as Territory Manager with Cascade crossed my path, it was a no-brainer. So many more people, both patients and business owners, can be helped on this large platform, and helping people is what I’m designed to do, be it to offer a solution to business owners or find the right product for their patients.
I’m an avid indoor rock climber and enjoy yoga running and weight training. I’ve been known to enjoy road races, whether it’s a half marathon or multiple 5-10K’s every couple of years. I love tasting new red wines (or old ones I don’t discriminate!), spending time with my husband and friends, and am a huge cat lover of our single fur baby.
Joe Mahon, CP
Co-Founder and CCO of Click Medical
Joe Mahon, Co-Founder & CCO of Click Medical, is a Certified Prosthetist with more than 26 years of experience in the field. He began as a technician in a lab and transitioned to a Prosthetist in 2000. For the past 20 years, he has been in private practice in Salt Lake City, where he also runs a small lab. Joe is primarily involved with Click Medical, focusing on the development and teaching of adjustable prosthetic systems.
The idea for these adjustable systems originated in 2009, after a patient expressed difficulties with socket fit. While on a ski trip in 2009, he had an epiphany about how patients could benefit from being able to adjust their own prosthetic sockets. This led to the creation of the RevoFit system, which allows users to easily adjust the fit of their prosthetics throughout the day, accommodating changes in limb volume and enhancing comfort. Joe emphasizes the importance of socket fit for overall prosthetic effectiveness and has contributed significantly to advancements in this area.
